The Vibe: Light-Medium, delicate, ripe red fruit, barnyard, Beaujolais, France, 100% Gamay, 12.5% a.b.v, 750ml
Friends Would Say: An old classic but with a young heart, this bottle oozes everything about Beaujolais and is a good representation of place and environment. Her character is unmistakably a class act, with a timeless bouquet of fresh red flowers on the nose and a subtle hint of dried roses. In mouth expect an angular beginning with accessible acidity followed by mellow red cherries and undercurrent of soily terroir with an almost barnyard, hay field quality. A real classic journey and one of SHED'S old friends.
The Banter: Kewin, whose nickname is Kéké, currently farms about 15 acres of Morgon, given to him by his father, Georges Descombes and four acres he rents within the Beaujolais appellation. Cuvée Kéké is his entry-level offering, widely acclaimed as a classic example of BeaujolaisThe First Date?: Comes from a good pedigree of wine makers so expect this wine to open up with a bit of history. The forgotten middle child, this Beaujolais comes from a family who own grape fields in Morgan (this is one of the top villages / areas in Beaujolais region) so you should have lots to talk about!
