Dominio de Punctum
The Vibe: Viognier, white, medium dry, sweet lemon, creamy, honeydew melon.
Friends Would Say: This person knows how to hold herself, like a sturdy bookcase she has a wealth of past knowledge. In the bottle you will find a stalky, opulent attack of sharp lemon with a sweet buttery pastry edge. This bottle has a beautiful pale golden colour, the wine highly aromatic with perfumed, floral aromas on the nose of yellow flowers. The palate is full of white blossom, magnolia and peach flavours, balanced perfectly with a refreshing, citric acidity. The balance of aromatic notes with the acidity leaves a clean and floral impression in the mouth.
The Banter: Viognier grape (vee-oh-nyay) was traditionally grown in the southeast of France around Rhone Valley. Recent decades have found a revival for this grape which at one point was not very popular, perhaps overshadowed by its northern sister in the maconnais region. Luckily, more and more people are planting viognier and De Punctum have successfully yielded a wine which brings back those classic viognier flavours of sweet honeydew and tart lemon. It's a contradictory grape sometimes and even harder to grow it but when its right, its right! One of SHEDS house wines simply for quality, organic and price.
The First Date?: If you like your chardonnay types then this chap will measure up just nicely!
